BeautyFix: Fall 2012 Kit
Like any good product junkie, I belong to two “sampling programs”. In the past few years, sampling programs have begun to pop up at mostly online beauty stores. My absolute favorite is called BeautyFix. And there are several reasons why this program stays at the top of my list.
First is that you get to choose your products. In most (if not all) of the other programs your monthly or quarterly samples are static and the same as all the other kits they send out. With BeautyFix, you get to choose about 8 deluxe or full size products. Availability is first come, first serve so you have to choose early to score the best.
Second, for doing 2 reviews on the site, you get a $25 gift card to dermstore.com. The card can be used on any $50 purchase. And for me, that comes in handy as they have many of my favorite brands (except Mario…boo).
And finally, the cost pays for itself. it’s $49.99 per quarter and each kit is easily worth over $250. For a junkie like me, that’s really amazing!

Eminence Cinnamon Kiss Lip Plumper

An organic, clear lip-plumping gloss with a spicy cinnamon flavor. The gloss is clear so there’s no color, only shine.
Raw Natural Minerals Mineral Glow in Warm Glow

A warmly pigmented mineral powder for a healthy, sun-kissed glow. Bronzer is usually what I use year round to give my skin some warmth and shine. I have tried other products from Raw before and loved them so I’m hoping I’ll love this too.
Nailtiques Formula 2 Kit for Soft, Peeling, Bitten, Weak or Thin Nails

This is a 2 product set. It comes with a Nail moisturizer and an oil for moisturizing the cuticle area. I am a chronic cuticle biter and no matter what I do, I chew. So I’m hoping this will help me stop. It’s a seriously disgusting habit that I hate!
Guinot Gommage Biologique

And my obsession with exfoliating continues. This is a gel that gently peels the dead layer of your skin to reveal a more radiant complexion… I’ll let you know how it works!
Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Eye Shadow in Dark Suede

I’m so excited to try this shadow! It’s this gorgeous, sparkly brown that looks amazing in the case… I’ve been trying to get better at eye shadow application but I seriously lack talent there and usually stick to neutrals since I feel like you can’t really mess them up.
CATTIVA Mascara in Black

I haven’t heard of CATTIVA before but they claim their mascara is rich and smudge proof and stays on without flaking. I’ll let you know if that’s the case when I post my mascara reviews later this week for a reader request. But the case is pretty spectacular. The tube handle is crystal studded and ya know, I’m a sucker for sparkle.
SkinMedica Vitamin C + E Complex

This was one of two smallest products I received. I love Mario’s Vitamin C serum but I’m always willing to try others. SkinMedica is a very reputable clinical brand so I thought I’d try their C out.
Snowberry Soothing Eye Serum

This eye serum was the other small product I received. I’ve not heard of Snowberry before but I have issues with eye creams. They’re either too thick or too gel like and I can’t seem to find the right consistency for my skin. Mario makes a good gel but I use that under makeup and I need something stronger at night. I’ll see about this one.
Each season, you also get your choice of makeup cases, which is nice but I never wind up using them and I now have a ridiculous stash of beautyfix cases.
