Fragrance Friday! Cartier Baiser Vole

Cartier Baiser Vole

Cartier… whenever I say the name Cartier, I feel eau so french and completely 5th Avenue. I’ve always had a thing for cute red boxes and tank watches (thanks Daddy!) but somehow I’ve never actually owned a Cartier fragrance.

THE HORROR! It’s kind of odd because I think I’d love Delices (the Cartier fragrance in the red bottle). Everytime I’m near it, I want to own it but alas… it never happens. One day.

While purchasing something in Nordstrom, I did get a sample of another Cartier fragrance – Baiser Vole. It is fairly new (within the past year) and it IS Cartier so… I was excited.

The bottle of Baiser Vole is really pretty. It’s round and the top flips up…I’m making it sound like a Bic Lighter but it’s really sophisticated looking. Baiser Vole means stolen kiss in french and was created by Cartier’s in house perfumer – Mathilde Laurent (Oh how I love french names). The scent was built around 1 particular flower: the lily.

I have to admit when I first sprayed it on me, my first reaction was a little choking. It is strong for a white, floral fragrance but the dry down is very quick. Once my intial spray was over with, it was rather powdery and light. This is a refined scent though and I’m not sure I’m the target here.

Overall, this is a nice fragrance but I’m still in love with another french company – for fragrance anyway. (Yes I’m talking Thierry Mugler Angel… if nothing I’m consistent!).

If you want to purchase Cartier Baiser Vole, you can do so at Nordstrom for $100 for 1.6 oz or $145 for 3.3 oz.
