If you’ve followed me for any length of time you know a few things.

1. I love to list. Everything.
2. I have a vivid imagination. As a matter of fact it’s so vivid, I believe I’m married to Jon Bon Jovi!
3. My favorite color in the world is purple.
4. I am a HUGE FAN GIRL for Mariah Carey.

HUGE. So when all of a sudden she was announcing a new fragrance, my heart went pitter patter thinking I missed the big launch. I did not. Mariah Carey Dreams is launching exclusively with Kohl’s in April though I ordered mine through the site and received it already! WOO HOO!

First, it’s all PURPLE! PURPLE! It’s like she made it JUST FOR ME! Then there’s the bottle. It was modeled after a champagne flute… very fancy and it really is pretty… the butterfly topper is just after my heart. I love Butterflies for very personal reasons. I even have a tattoo of a Butterfly. True story. So from the packaging alone, I was a fan.

Mariah’s past fragrances have been very very fruity. Very fruity. Read: YOUNG. I bought them like any good fan girl would but I rarely wear them. I was skeptical about Dreams.

I am happy to say that Mariah has created a grown up fragrance with Dreams. It is very warm smelling. There’s a base of Madagascar Vanilla and Patchouli that you 100% feel when you spray it. BUT it’s also surprisingly light. I think that’s the freesia, Lily of the Valley and Honeysuckle chiming in there. There’s also Bergamot and Toasted Almond as top notes and you smell the warmth of the Almonds right away. The dry down is quick and it lasts about 3-4 hours on me. Which for $49 is actually pretty good.

Mariah Carey Dreams is just a fragrance right now… hopefully they’ll expand into body creams and such. I really LOVE this scent and will be keeping it in my collection!
