Fragrance Fridays! Tom Ford Ombre de Hyacinth

Tom Ford Ombre de Hyacinth
I have a crush on Tom Ford. He just somehow knows women’s bodies and minds so well that everything he creates makes me swoon. For Christmas 2011, my husband bought me his fragrance Violet Blonde and I love it. I generally don’t wear it too often because at $200 a bottle, it’s a tad expensive.
So when I got my hands on a rare sample of Ombre de Hyacinth I was over the moon. Ombre de Hyacinth is a floral fragrance with notes of galbanum, violet leaf, magnolia petals and olibanum. There is of course, hyacinth and a few scents I typically despise: pink pepper and jasmine. The base is musk.
I have to say that this might be the first time I’m not with Tom. While the scent has lasting power, the hyacinth scent – which I love – dries down very quickly to pure Jasmine and Musk, which I hate – mostly because it gives me headaches.
I love the bottle and the simple glamour of it but loving the bottle doesn’t mean I’d purchase a $205 fragrance I don’t even like.
Sorry Tom. I’ll stick to Violet Blonde for now.

Fragrance Friday is here! This week I’m taking a look at Tom Ford’s Ombre de Hyacinth… but I’m not sure this… http://t.co/FBvqGnzyTk
