So last week, I posted a review on Purelement Naturals and some of the products they were kind enough to send over. Two of the products, I was confused about what I should be doing with… when the lovely Andriana advised that these products are great moisturizers.

I’m an active person. Well, as active as one could be with a bum knee. I am hard on my feet and it shows. My 6 day a week exercise schedule is rough on my little piggies and I am forever getting dry spots. So when Andriana suggested that using them on dry patches like rough elbows and feet, I was excited to maybe find something that I’d enjoy a little bit more than A + D Ointment. (Very un-glamorous but it works)

I first tried the Organic Unrefined Shea Butter on one foot. This was not a smooth process. The Organic Shea Butter probably needed to warm in my hands first because it crumbled onto the tile floor instead of melted into my skin. Once I figured that out (and scrambled to the floor to get the precious few crumbles I could), it did soften in my hands and was easier to spread on my foot. My one caveat here was the smell. I think I was spoiled by Defend and expected everything to be a spa experience. I was not fond of the smell of this stuff. It moistened my foot well but not as good as my A + D Ointment and I am not sure I could get used to using something so waxy. I like something emollient to get at those dry spots.

Then I tried the Organic Refined Coconut Oil… I’m in LOVE with it. It is white in the jar but once it feels anything warm, it liquefies into this amazing oil that sinks into your foot. It was so cool to see! This stuff is filled with goodies for your skin – like Vitamin E and fatty acids that make softening rough feet like mine very easy. I also have eczema on my left elbow (yes, I know… strange) and I spread a tiny bit on my elbow. Well, this stuff completely moistened it for the rest of the night and my elbow and my foot were STILL all fluffy with no dry skin patches in the morning. Now THAT was BETTER than my A+D Ointment!

You can purchase the Organic Refined Coconut Oil (2 oz jar) for $10 and the Organic Unrefined Shea Butter (2 oz jar) for $12 at the Purelement Naturals website… HOW AMAZING is that? That they are so buy-able! I’m not used to organic anything being THAT affordable!!!!
