Mario Badescu: My Skin Care Superhero

I had a rough Tuesday night. Though I went to bed at a normal hour, when you have children well… things don’t always go according to plan. Who am I kidding? When you have a child… NOTHING goes according to plan.

And sleep is a big thing for me. It’s my #1 beauty secret. 8 hours. Every night. So you can imagine how having a baby ruined that notion. And every time I think I’m on a really good roll with sleep… yep… he goes ahead and has a nightmare or some other issue (take your pick there could be several options here). As a mother, I hate when he has a bad night. As a woman, it’s just frustrating. I love sleep. I love my bed more. But I do enjoy a good night’s sleep.

So when I woke on Wednesday, barely able to function after getting… wait for it… 2 HOURS OF SLEEP… and I stumbled to the mirror and pried my eyes open and saw a nice, big, under the skin ZIT starting to rear it’s ugly not-yet-white head, I knew I had to spring into action.

And of course, who do I turn to? Mario. As in Badescu. So contrary to what you might be thinking, I am not an employee of Mario Badescu. And I have actually NEVER GOTTEN A FACIAL THERE!!! But I really am a HUGE fan of the products. I’ve used a lot of product in my long and sordid junkie past and there are really only 2 skin care brands that I feel this way about and Mario is #1.

One of Mario’s most popular products is his drying lotion. There are many copycat products (I won’t name names, not even if you try to torture them out of me) but Mario’s Drying Lotion is the original. It’s part calamine lotion (the pink part) and part salicylic acid along with other drying agents to quickly zap that zit. BUT this was DAYTIME. So I couldn’t possibly attend client meetings with a pink dot on my chin. Well, I could but I wouldn’t.

Not to fear, Mario is here! And Mario takes care of you. Like the skin care superhero that he really is, Mario thought of times like these and showed up one step ahead. Drying Cream is kind of like it’s Lotion sister but… it conceals as it dries up that annoying, under the surface zit. All you have to do is dab a bit on the affected area after moisturizer but BEFORE makeup and voila, you can wear your face armor (makeup of course) and heal a pimple at the same time. At $14, this product is a necessity. That little pot will last a very long time and I promise you that you won’t ever remember a time when you had to face the world with a red, swollen bump on your face again. Because the moment you notice something, you dab Drying Cream on the little sucker during the day, Drying Lotion at night, and the next day, you will see a marked difference.

See why I LOVE Mario?
