I was basically raised in the cosmetic industry. My entire 20′s were spent working for 2 international companies known for their skin and sun care. So SPF was drilled into me the way breakfast was for others. When I started working for Clarins… I went tanning. As in tanning beds. GASP! HORROR! I KNOW! But it’s the truth. While working for Clarins and learning about their sun products, I stopped (Thank Heavens!) and began to be diligent about protecting my skin. When I worked for Shiseido, well their education program for corporate employees is by far the most superior I’ve ever seen. It’s amazing. And I learned a lot about what sun does to your skin. Premature aging? NO THANKS!

If my moisturizer doesn’t have an SPF built in, I wear one on top of it, year round. Minimum SPF20. I’ve tried a lot of moisturizers in my day and I’ve found one that I truly love. Josie Maran (You’ve read about her here on this blog before… I’m very consistent with my brands) has an Argan Oil based moisturizer that has an SPF 40. What is the most amazing thing for me is that the SPF is completely natural. NO nasty chemical laden sun protection which for me… really goes against the point of protecting your skin.

Josie Maran’s Argan Oil Moisturizer with SPF 40 is a daily moisturizer that blocks UVA and UVB rays. And unlike other natural sun blocks while the lotion is white, it’s not chalky on your skin. It absorbs super quick and your skin completely soaks it all up. You get a lot of bang for your buck here. It comes in a brown pump 2 oz bottle and I’ve been using 2 pumps. This is going to last me a few months at the least. The cost is $32 and the moisturizer is PABA free, cruelty free and contains natural ingredients. There is a non-irritating scent to it though. It’s slightly fruity and is not at all disturbing to me. Some moisturizers smell horrible and chemical laden or are heavily scented. Not this one. There is a scent but it’s light and pleasing.
