Need Oxygen? Check out Karin Herzog Vita-A-Kombi 1 – it will give your skin all it needs to breathe!

Karin Herzog Vita-a-Kombi 1
Growing up in Manhattan gave me access to some amazing experiences. I can remember traveling all over the city to all sorts of Day Spa’s. I loved getting facials and massages, I mean who doesn’t love being pampered?
I hadn’t ever really been faithful to any one spa until I went to this tiny, little place in Soho that I heard stellar things about. Let’s Face It was making waves in the fashion industry and at the time, I worked Public Relations for Armani. Some of the model’s we worked with kept telling me about this Marcia that gave the BEST facials in all the land.
So I went. It was really a nothing salon inside of an artsy building on the second floor. I waited a bit for my appointment but then Marcia came to get me and led her previous client out. The previous client was Cindy Crawford. And Cindy apologized to ME for taking so much of my facial time. SERIOUSLY.
Marcia finished with Cindy (my new BFF) then led me to the back where she gave me her signature facial called an “Oxygen” facial. It was really revolutionary and controversial back then. Adding pure Oxygen to products and facials to create a glow in the skin. At the time, Marcia was using products by a brand called Karin Herzog.
Karin Herzog is a Swiss brand that was created more than 35 years ago by Dr. Paul Herzog. The products are a result of many years of scientific research focusing on the stabilization of Oxygen. Dr. Herzog committed himself to figuring out what effects oxygen on the human body.
Eight years after beginning, Dr. Herzog found a way to stabilize oxygen and won all sorts of awards for it. Now what does this have to do with skincare? Dr. Herzog had a wife, Karin. And she was and esthetician! Together to found a way to infuse oxygen into skincare products to create the line.
When I saw Marcia – facialist guru – she told me I needed to begin using this cream by Karin Herzog called Vita-a-Kombi 1. It was expensive but I bought it because… hello, she just worked on Cindy Crawford. If the woman who kept Cindy’s skin pristine was telling ME to buy a cream, I was sold. Hook, line and sinker.
What was special about this cream was that it contained 1% oxygen. I used it for many years until I started playing around with other creams (damn product junkie is never faithful). Recently I came across the entire brand in Dermstore.com and I of course picked it up.
This is a cream not a lotion. It is heavier than my normal everyday Josie Maran Moisturizer. There really isn’t a scent to it, maybe a light, fresh smell but nothing startling. You need a little dime size to cover your face and it’s both a day and night cream. The cream, although thick, sinks right into your skin and creates a great base for your makeup.
After 1 week, the large pores on my nose were visibly reduced and a light melasma spot from pregnancy is almost non-existent. My skin looks luminous without my Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer! My skin looks plump and healthy and all sorts of glowy.
I am so glad that I ran into this cream again! The line has gained some notable fans since then, most notably Kate – Duchess of Cambridge. And using this cream makes me think back to my NYC Let’s Face It Days.
What happened to Marcia from Let’s Face It? Well Marcia changed the name of the spa to Bliss (yes that Bliss), opened a few more then sold it and started another line that’s now sold at Target & Sephora (Soap & Glory). And if you haven’t figured out who Marcia is, it’s Marcia Kilgore… a phenomenal business woman who not only founded those two amazing brands, but also found the “fitflop”. Yep. She used to give me facials before all of that.
Vita-a-Kombi 1 is expensive but is worth it for the miracle it works on your face… you can buy it at Dermstore.com.
