On my… Toes: Essie Devil’s Advocate
You might remember that I have confessed several times that I have a serious cuticle biting habit. And what that basically means is that I really do not have very nice hands for putting super sexy colors like Chanel’s infamous Vamp. Because my cuticles are ragged (and sometimes bleeding! EW!) I keep it light on the hands. But on my toes… well that’s another story. I break free on my toes!
I was in Ulta and noticed a color on the Essie stand that was this dark plum color. It looked super vixen-y and really cool. My favorite color is purple and this was purple to the extreme. So I snatched it up. That was over the summer. And I had forgotten about it but on Friday I went for Mani/Pedi and I only put colors on my toes that I own. Why? Well because I’m incredibly OCD and I can’t have chips. So if I own the color, I can do touch ups and that sort of thing to correct the chips. (Trust me – being Type A, OCD is a pain in the you know what).
So I went through my colors and saw this dark plum and thought… YES! I love it but I kind of wish the pluminess showed up more on my toenails. It kind of just looks black. Which is fine by me, I LOVE black but I thought I was getting a dark plum. Chanel makes a plum called Vendetta that looks plummy on my toes.. If I wanted black I would have gotten Chanel’s Black Satin. I wanted plum and should have gotten Vendetta.
I’m not unhappy just feel duped. By a nail color.
P.S. Don’t you love my flip flop tan lines? Ugh!
