If you’ve read my blog for any amount of time, you know I love a good scrub. I can’t help it. For my combination skin, a good scrub makes my pores feel squeaky clean and all sorts of smooth and even. I know you shouldn’t scrub every single day but I like it. I love it. So I’m always trying new scrubs. In one of my Birchbox’s, I received a deluxe trial size of a scrub from a brand called Suki. I really never heard of them before but if it’s a scrub, I’ll try anything.
Suki’s Exfoliating Cleanser is all natural and contains organic lemongrass and chamomile to rid your pores of buildup from makeup, sebum and general environmental pollutants. The scrub also contains a very nonabrasive sugar. It’s crystals are large and smooth feeling in your hand. It kind of looks like caviar and smells like lemon ice.
To activate, you need to put a glob in your hand then wet it and rub your palms together. It will lather. Then you smooth it on your face. The lemongrass and chamomile cleanse the skin and the Alpha Hydroxy Acids in the sugar gently buff away dead skin and oil without drying.
After using this for a week, my skin, which had breakouts when I started, was clear and smooth. And I accidentally got the scrub in my mouth while in the shower (don’t ask, I’m a calamity) and guess what… it really is sugar. It tasted sweet and lemony.
You can purchase this at Birchbox.com for $32.95 – yes it’s on the expensive side but it’s a really great product and you won’t be sorry!
