Welcome back into my life Birchbox! January 2013 Birchbox
If you’ve never heard of Birchbox, then let me tell you a little about them. Birchbox is a monthly sample club that allows you to try 4-5 sample size products each month for $10. In comparison to other sample clubs, it’s very affordable BUT you are also not getting as much as you do with Beautyfix or Testtube. What you do get is points from every box that you can use to purchase products at Birchbox.com.
One thing I do like about Birchbox is the brands. I learned about a now favorite brand, Jouer, first through Birchbox. They seem to have their finger on the pulse of up and coming brands in a way no other sample club does. January 2013 marks my first Birchbox in over a year. There were a few things I liked too… Here’s what my box contained:
-Sample Size Hot Mama Shadow/Blush by The Balm: This is similar in color to Nars’ Orgasm and while I have heard of The Balm, I haven’t tried any of their products. I’m excited to try this.
-Sample Size DDF Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer Moisturizing Serum: Funny thing about this brand is that I used to go to the dermatologist that created it! I have tried their products before and I’m going pocket this one until it gets warmer when you’re looking to shrink those pores!
-Sample Packette of Kerastase Nectar Thermique: Who doesn’t love Kerastase? Their products are luxurious and well-made. This is a leave-in serum designed to protect your hair from heat styling. I am super psyched to try this when I straighten my hair!
-Trial Size of Kerastase Elixir Ultime: ANOTHER Kerastase!!! Another! This is a leave-in dry oil to moisturize your hair. AND it’s a trial size (the little gold bottle in the photo) not a packette! SCORE!
-Sample Size Viva La Juicy Perfume – When I was much younger, I was a huge fan of Juicy, not so much anymore.
There’s also this cute poster about how to make 2013 the best year ever with some ideas for accomplish-able resolutions. Overall, I’m super excited about the Kerastase samples, those are worth the $10 alone since they are so difficult to come by. I’ll be adding the reviews here when I do finally use the stuff!
